Adrienne Maloof is a Democrat. The majority of her friends are gay. She’s happy to be dating a younger man. And, although she didn’t show up to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion show, Maloof will most likely be starring in her own reality series sometime soon. These are just a few of the things Ben Harvey learned when Maloof checked in with The Bender podcast:
On supporting the NoH8 Campaign:
“I believe in this campaign, and it’s the way I live….We’re not Republicans; we’re Democrats, and I was raised with parents who taught me to believe in equality. A majority of my friends are gay. Over the years I’ve heard their stories and felt their pain…so why not lend my voice because it’s the right thing to do, and it’s what I believe in…Bullying can happen at any age, whether it’s adult bullying, bullying because of race, sex, religion, but that’s what we’re trying to solve here.”
On Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 3:
“There was a lot of cattiness, but I will say this: I ended on a high note with Bravo. They understand my situation. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get into too much about my marriage and my children, so I had to do what I had to do. It was a great platform, and for me the second chapter of my life I think you’ll find to be quite impressive.”
Maloof’s second chapter…her own reality show:
“I’ve got offers left and right for a reality television show and I’m doing a feature film with Dreamworks.” When asked if she would do reality TV again, she said, “I would, and you’ll have to stay tuned…It’s there, I can’t talk about it yet. It’s a great idea and I’m looking forward to it happening.”
Her Zing Vodka venture & Lisa Vanderpump:
Will Vanderpump serve Maloof’s vodka at her restaurants Sur or Villa Blanca? “No I think that might be the only place we won’t hit.”
On her relationship with Sean Stewart and whether she’s offended by the term “boy toy”:
“Age should be irrelevant. Neither of us even thought about age. If you like a person you like them. There’s plenty of men who date younger women, and you don’t hear much about that, and to make it a big deal the other way around I think is very sexist…It’s fun… It was refreshing to go out with him after being in a ten year marriage where obviously it got difficult.”
Does Maloof regret not showing up to the Housewives reunion?
“No I don’t regret not going because I was under a court order that I couldn’t be talking about children and my marriage. I just didn’t want to take that chance; it wasn’t worth it for a reality show. That day I was actually at a school event at Big Bear skiing with my kids.”
Finally, the question asked on Real Housewives that Maloof never got the opportunity to answer herself: Who is Adrienne Maloof in this world? What does she want the world to know about her?
“Number one that I’m a great mother. Number two that my family has taught me to work hard and give back…and that’s what I’ll teach to my children. It sounds very basic but it’s what I believe in.”
